Life pulls at all of us — work, children, family, partners, the endless list of things that need our attention before we ever get to ourselves. The Ancestral Alchemist is not only me. It is a sacred space — one built from tools that have lived across every continent and culture since long before any of us were born, where healing has always been possible, even when we forgot how to reach for it.
I am here to help you reconnect with your Ancestors, release what stress has buried, move through grief without being consumed by it, and finally set down the generational weight that was never yours to carry alone. Consider me your guide — not walking ahead of you, but beside you, as you transform not just your health, but your life.

Hey, I'm naa kwarley!
I am an IPHM Accredited sound healer, Reiki practitioner, crystal energy worker, and ancestral guide — and I came to every single one of those titles the hard way. I survived a marriage that wasn't loving me back, a workplace that mistook my power for a problem, and a heart that has weathered eight strokes and a heart attack. What brought me to the other side wasn't hustle. It was sound. It was my ancestors. It was the decision to stop shrinking and start remembering who I actually am.
I founded The Ancestral Alchemist to be the space I needed and couldn't find — one rooted in ancestral wisdom, unapologetic in its love for women, and honest about both the science and the sacred. My work is for the woman who is tired of carrying generational weight she was never meant to hold alone.
In 2024, I traveled to Ghana Africa for the first time. While there, I was welcomed into the Ga Tribe through a traditional African Naming Ceremony and given the name "Naa Kwarley". I have used my African-given name since that date, but I am also known as Sumaiyah Yates.
Trained through all levels of Reiki, including the Master level. Rooted in ancestral spiritual tradition with two pilgrimages to Ghana, including a visit to Elmina Castle where the Sacred Assignment behind this work was revealed. Conferred the Curate degree in Intentional Creativity® - the highest certification offered (PhD equivalent). Certified Crystal and Chakra Healer.
Over 20,000 women served across 10 years of practice. That is not a number built on marketing. It is a number built on showing up, cycle after cycle, and doing work that actually moves something.
Women leave my space sleeping more deeply, carrying less, and feeling reconnected to something larger than the weight they walked in with. The most consistent thing I hear is this: "I didn't know I was allowed to feel this free."

I am a published author. I owned my first art gallery before I ever painted anything. I was the venue host for a popular Baltimore open mic for 3 years. I was sponsor of the Baltimore Slamaggedon Slam Team the year they took the poetry slam championship.
I officiated my Goddaughter's wedding. I own a cat that is part Asian Snow Leopard. I once opened my front door and was greeted by 5 turkey vultures. I used to wear 8 inch heals to a job where I had to climb inside technology wiring closets.
